Bowling on Steroids

Looking for something fun to do in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago? South Barrington is now home to Pinstripes, a unique bowling, bocce and bistro experience set in a swanky style with upbeat music.

This 45,000 square foot indoor/outdoor facilities highlight feature is the 18 bowling lanes equipped with an electronic scoring system, automatic bumpers for children and cozy sofa and bar seating. They even give each bowler a complimentary pair of Pinstripes socks. Over the holidays we made a trip to Pinstripes with a few families and the kids and everyone had a blast. The kids took advantage of the mini burgers washed down with root beer floats, all of which they enjoyed greatly. For just $7 kids can get buttery breadsticks, noodles, chicken fingers, a drink and dessert!  We were so impressed with everything that we decided to go back a week later with just the adults for new years eve. We played a 2 games of bowling with a few couples prior to the new years eve festivities while enjoying a few of their excellent wines and noshing on a few pieces of their margherita pizza, which was excellent!

If bowling is not your thing, try one of the six bocce courts. Bocce, a game that dates back to ancient Egypt, is usually something most of us have played in the back yard during summer barbeques. Pinstripes has done an excellent job of bringing the game indoors, similar to that of their bowling lanes with comfortable seating as well as a full food and drink menu.

Pinstripes also boasts an Italian-America bistro with a full menu, including wood fire pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, salads and so much more. They also have a wine cellar with an extensive wine list, outdoor patio with fireplace and well appointed event and party rooms that can accommodate groups from 20-600.
