Education is of vital importance when considering a move to a new area – however, even when you have settled your little angels into their new schools often you are completely out of the loop as a parent on what is going on at your child’s school (forget learning the latest teen lingo and asking “what the 411 is” or promising that you will keep any news “on the DL” – there are easier ways to keep tabs on what is going on!)

Schaumburg High School in Schaumburg Illinois has a fantastic website which is regularly updated with the latest news relevant to its students. I think that all schools should have a feature like this as we are all leading busier and busier lives and cannot wait for those PTA meetings to see how the school is spending its funding!

For instance an update this month on their website that effective February 1, 2010, parents can take advantage of the convenience of on-line credit card payment for their child’s High School District 211 food service prepayment account. Which is a great easier way for parents to manage and monitor what their child is spending on food! Dietary news aside there is also an upcoming “SHOcase of the bands” in March – so if your teen is rocking out on the guitar or drumkit in the garage you will know that they are practicing for this event!
