The Alexian Brothers hospitals were listed among U.S. News Media & World Report best hospitals in Chicago rankings for the 2011-12 year. Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village ranked seventh, while St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates was tied for ninth on the list of 44 hospitals in the greater Chicago area. Overall, 121 area hospitals were reviewed for the list. This is great news for residents in the area, who have access to some of the best healthcare facilities in the region.

But also, those living in Hoffman Estates and the surrounding areas within Hanover Township, are a conscientious bunch! Residents are always striving to reduce, reuse and recycle!

This is evident in the second annual Recycling Extravaganza for residents of Hanover Township (which includes Hoffman Estates and Bartlett) which is being held on Saturday, August 13 2011 from 8am to 1pm.

Last year the Recycling event had over 1,200 cars come through with people bringing in all sorts of items for recycling. This year vendors will be available collecting electronics, cell phones, car batteries, prescription drugs, books, magazines, eye glasses, hearing aids, tattered American flags, clothing, gently worn shoes, bicycles, fire extinguishers, propane tanks and much more! All materials collected are recycled or disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner – something which will be welcomed by local residents.

So as you can see Hoffman Estates is a great place to live and it has a great community spirit.
