2 Toots Train Whistle Grill opened at the end of last year right here in Bartlett. 2 Toots is a fun family friendly restaurant that is located at the intersection of Main Street and Railroad Avenue at the Bartlett Town Center development.

The concept of 2 Toots is to hark back to a bygone age, a simpler time where a new generation could enjoy a traditional restaurant with home style cooking, traditional old-fashioned burgers, fries, salads, sandwiches and much more. The restaurant is themed around trains and a rail track! Every order is delivered to customers by model trains running on tracks on top a 50s style lunch counter.

The owners of 2 Toots decided that they wanted to bring a unique concept to a diner restaurant and opened its first 2 Toot’s location in Downers Grove, Il and plan to expand across Illinois and Ohio.

For those who are looking for a fun place to eat in Bartlett then check out 2 Toot’s which is open from 11am to 8pm on Mondays through Saturdays and until 7pm on Sundays.

Herb Aigner Gallery of Schaumburg Prairie Center for The Arts – Chicagoland NW Suburban IL Real Estate & Community

I know I have written before about all of the great cultural events that are put on at Schaumburg’s popular Prairie Center for The Arts such as The Nutcracker at Christmas or performances by the Schaumburg Youth Orchestra annually and even an Environmental Fair! But how about the Herb Aigner Gallery at the Prairie Center for The Arts?

This fantastic gallery is located at the center and features works of art from local and regional artists as well as those from around the globe. Exhibits change monthly with this month’s being “Flowers in Our Soul” which is a collection of images created by local photographers who present their vision of flowers through their pictures.

Other exhibits for 2012 include Youth Art for March 2012 and some Digital Photography in June. Click here to see other exhibits this year.

The Herb Aigner Gallery is open from Monday through Friday from 8am till 6pm and on some evenings and weekends.

The Prairie Center is such an important part of the Schaumburg community and visiting the Center for Herb Aigner Gallery is a fun afternoon out to enjoy some local culture. If you are new to Schaumburg, spend time checking out local amenities like the Arts Center.

Schaumburg is beautiful! – Chicagoland NW Suburban IL Real Estate & Community

I know that Schaumburg is a beautiful place! But now it has been confirmed thanks to some latest news released by the Village of Schaumburg. :-)

A small part of Schaumburg has been honored with the 2012 Excellence in Landscaping award from the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association. The Olde Schaumburg Center Parking lot was selected to receive an Excellence in Landscaping Gold Award. This great project was part of a construction project involving a new road, irrigation system and “ornamental and native landscaping”. When it come to styling for this project, the village selected paving bricks and traditionally styled lighting fixtures to fit the historic district’s style. The project is also hugely environmentally friendly!

This isn’t the first time a project has been recognized by the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association in Schaumburg. A few years ago a Silver Medal was awarded for the Veterans Gateway Park project.

Schaumburg is no stranger to awards, in 2010 it won the International Award for Livable Communities “Whole City Bronze Award” and the “Environmentally Sustainable Project Bronze Award” as well as BusinessWeek America’s Best Place to Raise Your Kids Runner-Up. This just scratches the surface of the recognition that the Village receives for being such a great and beautiful place to live, work and play!

Closets & Storage Space Help Sell Your Home! – Chicagoland NW Suburban IL Real Estate & Community

When it comes to storage in a home, we all know it is important – I know that being organized is important, particularly when it comes to selling your home.

Many homes feature relatively decent closet space and storage space, however as not all homes are the same and were built in years past when so much storage space wasn’t needed, it is no wonder that so many homeowners struggle for storage space and numerous totes of nicknacks end up in the garage!

Storage space, large pantries and organized closets with storage shelves can help sell your home. Most Real Estate agents will tell buyers when they list their home for sale to declutter and organize their home. This is great advice, not just for selling but also for living. Most homeowners never would see their storage space and closets as an asset, but they really are! Make the most of them!

How do you do this? So before you revamp your closet how should you declutter, this means thoroughly going through the items in your closet and storage spaces and deciding whether you want to A) keep them B) sell them C) donate them or D) trash them!

For those items in category B, ebay them, host a yard sale or post them on craigslist! For C, donate these items to a thrift store, goodwill or other organization that will accept them. For those in category D, make a run to your local dump and dispose of these items in the most responsible and environmentally friendly way.

What should you now do with those items in category A that you wish to keep? Well, these will go back into your closet and storage spaces, but in an organized fashion!

For closets: Buy shoe racks, install shelves and group your clothes into like items. Store smaller items into small storage totes and label them.

For other storage spaces: install sturdy shelving and group like items into totes or storage boxes, label them and make sure that they aren’t too heavy for you to lift on your own.

Once you have done this you should find that you have more storage space than you thought! By being organized and using your storage space to the best of its ability you will be able to show potential buyers how best to use the space available in your home and its true size and functionality. The last thing you want a buyer to do is open a storage space or closet door and be overwhelmed with junk!

So keep your home clean, organized and clutter free!
